Annual Rites (UK)
Each year we gather in November for two rites.
The Saturday Evening Rite
A 'dramatic' ritual focusing on those who are either already serving, or intend on doing so. This is an opportunity for ..
- Welcome new members/participants
- People to socialise, swap stories, make new support networks
- Thank the gods for past protection
- Petition them for ongoing protection for ourselves, our loved ones, and those we are serving
- Renew our pledge to hold to the 'contract'.
After this rite we go for a meal at a local hostelry.
The Sunday Morning Rite
Focuses on those who have lost their lives
- In Service
- Who we were unable to save
Dress code
Saturday tends to be 'informal'. As we are outdoors, suitable clothing is advised.
Sunday is more 'formal'. Uniform may be worn, or tokens of our 'Regiment'/Service.
